I was graduated magna cum laude with an A.B. (major: English & Africana Studies, minor: Education) from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. I completed my post-graduate studies at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, earning an M.A. in American Studies and being inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the honor society of Jesuit colleges and universities.

While a student at Bowdoin, I worked for several years at nearby Longfellow Elementary School as a classroom aide and a recess monitor. In the spring of 2001, I completed my student teaching practicum at Richmond Middle School in Richmond, Maine, receiving my State of Maine teaching certification in Language Arts (7-12).

I began my career at Choate Rosemary Hall’s Summer Programs as a teaching intern during the summer of 2000. In 2002, I became the Director of Choate’s Young Writers’ Workshop, and I served as the Director of Summer Writing Programs from 2007 to 2013.

In the summer of 2007, I was one of two faculty members under the age of 30 to receive the Summer Programs’ “Junior Faculty” Award.

I began my career at The Rectory School where I taught English, reading, and public speaking; coached soccer, basketball, and lacrosse; served as a dormitory head; and held, among other positions, the jobs of Assistant to the Director of Secondary School Placement, Assistant Director of Admissions, and Associate Director of Marketing & Communications.

I received the James Jeffrey Langford “One Person Can Make a Difference” Award in June of 2007.

In 2007, I began teaching sixth-grade English at Greens Farms Academy, where I currently serve as a teacher, sixth-grade advisor, cross-country coach, and member of the Middle School Admissions Committee. Some of my past positions include Grade Dean; Middle School Co-Coordinator for Equity & Inclusion and member of the Faculty & Staff Committee on Equity & Inclusion; co-adviser and designer of the Middle School literary magazine; Middle School communications liaison; and many more. I also play bass guitar in the Middle School musical’s pit band, chaperone field trips, attend conferences, and participate fully and joyfully in all aspects of the GFA community.

I am the proud recipient of the Charles A. Dietrich Award for Excellence in Teaching.
